Summary: Ultimatum Share is an offline-first file transfer and file tools app for Android. The core transfer flow is designed to work locally between devices on the same local network or through user-initiated local sharing flows. We do not operate our own cloud storage or transfer servers for your file transfers, and we do not upload your selected transfer files to our own servers for delivery. The app may use Google services such as Firebase, Google Mobile Ads (AdMob), and Google Play Billing for diagnostics, monetization, and purchase handling.
1) Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Ultimatum Share (“App”, “we”, “us”, “our”) accesses, processes, stores, and shares information when you use the App.
2) Information we access or process
2.1 Files and content you choose
- Files you select: The App accesses files only when you explicitly choose them through Android system pickers, MediaStore, the Storage Access Framework (SAF), or other user-initiated Android file selection flows.
- Transferred content: Files you choose may be transferred locally to another device you intentionally connect to, previewed, exported, copied, or stored locally on your device.
- Imported content: If you use PC Connect, document pickers, folder pickers, or local receive/import flows, selected files may be copied into app-controlled local storage or into locations you explicitly choose.
2.2 Information stored locally on your device
- App preferences: The App may store local preferences such as theme settings, enabled tools, premium state, rewarded temporary Pro state, selected SAF roots, and related feature settings.
- Received and app-private files: Received files, app-private files, PC bridge files, exported content, Vault content, and related local working files may be stored on your device until you delete them, clear app data, or uninstall the App.
- Session data: For features such as LAN discovery, QR pairing, PC Connect, Secure Transfer, Multi-Channel Transfer, Transfer Resume, Folder Sync, Folder Browser Pro, and Smart Sync-type workflows, the App may process local IP addresses, ports, session IDs, session tokens, selected roots, file names, file sizes, checksums, and related local network metadata.
2.3 Information processed by third-party services
The App may use third-party Google services. These services may process data according to their own policies, SDK behavior, and your device/account settings.
- Firebase Crashlytics: crash reports, diagnostics, device/app technical signals, and error data used to improve app stability and troubleshoot problems.
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): ad requests, ad impressions, interactions, device/app identifiers, IP address, diagnostics, and fraud-prevention signals in the free version where ads are shown.
- Google Play Billing: purchase state, entitlement validation, purchase tokens, restore-purchase signals, and related billing data necessary to unlock and restore Premium through Google Play.
3) How we use information
- To provide local/offline file transfer and receiving features.
- To support QR pairing, LAN discovery, and device-to-device file transfer.
- To support PC Connect and browser-based local access on the same network.
- To support advanced workflows such as Secure Transfer, Transfer Resume, Multi-Channel Transfer, Folder Sync, Folder Browser Pro, and similar local features available in the current app version.
- To store your local app preferences and feature state on your device.
- To show ads in the free version, where applicable.
- To process Premium purchase and restore flows through Google Play Billing.
- To improve app stability, performance, and debugging through diagnostics.
- To help detect abuse, fraud, crashes, and technical misuse.
4) Advertising and Premium
- Free version: The free version of the App may display ads, including interstitial ads and rewarded ads where applicable.
- Premium: Premium is a one-time unlock processed through Google Play Billing. Premium may remove ads and unlock advanced features depending on the version of the App.
- Temporary Pro / rewarded access: The App may offer temporary Pro access through rewarded ad flows. This state is stored locally on your device.
5) Permissions and access
The App requests access only for features you choose to use. Access is intended to be user-initiated.
- READ_MEDIA_IMAGES – to browse, select, preview, transfer, or manage image files.
- READ_MEDIA_VIDEO – to browse, select, preview, transfer, or manage video files.
- READ_MEDIA_AUDIO – to browse, select, preview, transfer, or manage audio files.
- READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (older Android versions only) – legacy compatibility where required by supported Android versions.
- Storage Access Framework / Android document and folder pickers – to let you explicitly choose files or folders, including user-selected folder roots for supported features.
- NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES – for nearby/local device discovery where required by Android.
- ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION (older Android compatibility only) – for nearby/local discovery compatibility on Android versions where the OS requires location-related permission for network discovery behavior.
- Network access – for local transfer, local browser sessions, diagnostics, ads, and purchase validation where applicable.
No cloud transfer backend operated by us.
No account required to use core file transfer features.
We do not sell your personal data.
6) How data may be shared
We do not sell your files or personal data. Limited information may be shared only in these cases:
- With Google service providers such as Firebase, AdMob, and Google Play Billing, to support diagnostics, advertising, fraud prevention, purchases, and entitlement handling.
- With devices you intentionally connect to during local transfer, PC Connect, Secure Transfer, Folder Sync, Multi-Channel Transfer, Folder Browser, or similar local-network sessions.
- When required by law if disclosure is necessary to comply with legal obligations, enforceable requests, or to protect rights, safety, or security.
7) File handling and storage
- Your ownership: You retain ownership of your files.
- Local-first handling: Files selected for transfer are intended to stay on your device and local network unless you explicitly share or export them elsewhere.
- Received files: Files received through the App may be stored in app-specific storage or exported by you to public/user-selected locations.
- Vault and app-private areas: Some files may remain in app-controlled storage until you move or delete them.
- PC Connect / Folder Browser / Sync features: User-selected roots, session metadata, and file metadata may be processed locally to enable those features.
8) Legal bases (EEA/UK where applicable)
- Consent: where required for advertising-related or optional data processing.
- Performance of a requested service: to provide the features you ask the App to perform.
- Legitimate interests: for diagnostics, app integrity, abuse prevention, security, and product improvement.
- Legal obligation: where processing is required by law.
9) Children’s privacy
The App is intended for a general audience and is not designed as a children’s app. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children beyond what may be incidentally processed through normal app operation or third-party SDK functionality.
10) Data retention
- Local files and settings: remain on your device until you delete them, clear app data, or uninstall the App.
- Third-party service data: may be retained according to the policies and retention rules of the relevant service provider.
- Purchase records: Google Play may retain purchase-related data according to Google’s systems and policies.
11) Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the App’s design. However, no device, local network, operating system, or communication channel can be guaranteed to be completely secure in all circumstances.
12) Your choices
- You can control Android permissions in device settings.
- You can choose whether to use optional file, folder, PC Connect, QR, LAN, sync, browser, and export features.
- You can delete local files or uninstall the App at any time.
- You can manage ad/privacy settings through applicable Google and device controls where supported.
13) No account creation / no account deletion flow
The App does not require user account creation for core use. Because the App does not provide an in-app account system, there is no account deletion workflow for an account hosted by us. Local data remains under your control on your device and can generally be removed by deleting files, clearing app data, or uninstalling the App.
14) Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will publish the updated version on this page and update the effective date above.
